Hearts Adorned With WonderSample

Have you ever looked up at the stars and let yourself wonder what it was like for the Wise Men as they travelled all those lonely nights? Through the dark. In the cold of night. Gazing at the sky to follow after the star of Bethlehem.
No Siri. No Google maps. How would they know where to go?
Think about this: They’d lose sight of the star in the day when the sun swallowed up the night. What an adventure and act of courage to believe the star would appear again each night of their travels. Talk about walking by faith, not by sight!
How did they even know that the star meant that Jesus was going to be born? Their scientific observations combined with their faith in God is one of the most incredible parts of the Christmas story. And there are a lot of incredible parts in the Christmas story!
Here is today's wonder challenge.
Tonight (or one night this week), set aside 15 minutes to put your phone away. Set all other distractions aside, then go outside.
Go on a walk; find a place where you can see at least a single star. If it's safe to do so, get to a place that is dark enough so that you can see them sparkle!
As you take a moment tonight to look up, let your heart, your senses and your imagination get lost in the wonder of the glimmering stars. Like the Wise Men, attentive to God's works, witness the beauty of God's creation and the testimony of His faithfulness told by the night sky.
Perhaps, if you listen closely or put your ear to the ground, you'll hear the thumps of hooves as all the world’s powers rush toward Bethlehem. Angels and soldiers, shepherds and kings—some to worship, some to try destroy the little child born into the world.
Take a few moments to think about the little child the Wise Men went to see. A Savior, hidden away in a forgotten town, wrapped up in a poor family’s clothes. The light of the world. As a little child, His light could have been blown out like a little candle by Herod.
But, as it turns out, He shines brighter than any of these stars in the brightest night sky.
