Intimacy With Jesus: Staying Connected to the VineSample

The Farmer Takes Care Of His Vine And His Branches
“I Am a True Sprouting Vine, and The Farmer Who tends The Vine is My Father. He cares for the branches connected to Me by lifting and propping up the fruitless branches and pruning every fruitful branch to yield a greater harvest. The words I have spoken over you have already cleansed you. So, you must remain in life-union with Me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to Mine.” (John 15:1-4 TPT)
I love how this passage of scripture paints the picture for us in great detail of how God, the Father, takes care of us as we stay connected to Jesus. There is a powerful and beautiful promise to us there. It is in us anchoring our roots in Jesus, that the Father cares for us as His branches and empowers us to yield a greater harvest. In other words, the by-product of us remaining in life-union with Jesus and staying intimately joined to the Sprouting Vine that is Him is that the Father meticulously tends to us to bring about His everlasting fruit in our lives.
As I was just mulling over what it truly means to have complete oneness with Jesus, I began to think about how us living in life-union with Him is so much more than just staying connected to Him. If He is the Vine and we are the branches, then we are an extension of who He is. And if we are a part of Him, we then become a representation or reflection of Him to the world around us.
