Jesus the Gift of Grief: Overcoming the Holiday BluesSample
Day 1- Jesus the GIFT of PEACE
Jesus has the power to bring peace to our lives. When we feel hopeless, or lonely, or need someone to talk to we should understand that He is there for us. Yes, I said it, we can talk to Him and He will talk to us. When we read our bibles we will find that it says in the book of Isaiah.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 6:9 NIV
In the world that we live in we always need someone to talk to so if we can’t get an appointment with a health care professional, we can always get an appointment with our WONDERFUL COUNSELOR.
Sometimes we try so hard to figure out why us, we say why me. Would you believe if I told you that you just stress yourself out even more trying to understand why it had to be you? We have to know that everything in our life happens for a reason and Jesus cares so much about us.
I get it and understand that when a great loss has occurred, especially of a loved one, it is challenging to see beyond the hurt and pain. How do I allow Jesus to be my gift when I am struggling to simply hold on from day to day? How do I keep my mind on Jesus when all I can do is think about the loss I experienced and the grief I am feeling? Here are a few ways that you can allow the gift of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, into your heart:
• SEEK HIM- Prayer is the key to communicating with Jesus. Don’t worry about your words being perfect, just tell Him all about what is bothering you.
• ASK HIM- Invite Him into your heart. Ask Him for help during difficult times. Ask Him for understanding about your situation.
• LISTEN TO HIM- Open your ears, and heart to be able to listen to Jesus when He speaks and gives instructions or solutions to your problems.
