Corinth was a disaster, not unlike many of our modern-day American cities. Paul had a lot to say to the church in Corinth:
-Corinth was full of idol worship in temples and sexual sin of every sort and kind imaginable.
-Paul addresses their immorality and idolatry by explaining holiness.
-The letter is predominantly corrective, stern, and direct because Paul wants the Corinthians to follow God with their hearts, hands, and minds.
