We Belong TogetherSample

More Than a Menu
What can you tell about all the work and ingredients that go into a meal based on its name on a menu?
Wait, what does that have to do with belonging to the Body of Christ? Well, it has to do with making quick judgments without enough information. It’s complicated. And who better to explain complicated subjects in an easy-to-understand way than Quizman? Watch his video to understand more.
Make sense now? Don’t reduce anyone to a simple label and decide you’re better than they are because of it. Nope. Not okay with God. No sugarcoating it: There’s just no reason to dislike someone based on how they’re different. When we start picking favorites—elevating some and keeping others down—we’re not honoring the body of Christ. We’re harming it.
Ask yourself: This is a tough one. Take a moment to pray and honestly answer. Is there anyone I think isn’t really that great or even don’t treat very well based on surface-level things?
Challenge yourself: During today’s Bible reading, focus on Acts 10:34 and 1 Corinthians 12:25. Write down what these two verses make you think about. Ask God to help you see anyone you thought of in today’s “Ask yourself” question the way God sees them.
Pray: God, thank You for knowing me inside and out. Thank You for loving me! Please help me to see myself and others the way You do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
