5 Prayers for Your Spouse | a Prayers of Rest 5-Day Devotional by Asheritah CiuciuSample

Day 3: FRIENDSHIPS
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” ECCLESIASTES 4:9–10
RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS
Holy Triune God, just as You exist in eternal unity within the divine Godhead—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—so You made us for community. I praise You for creating us with the capacity for human friendships that we may share the joys and sorrows of life with one another.
EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS
Lord God, surround my spouse with friends who will stir one another on toward love and good deeds. May they refuse to gossip, harm their neighbors, or speak evil of their friends. Rather, let them sharpen each other in righteousness, doing what is right and living in harmony with all around them. Lord, let the counsel of my spouse’s friends be heartfelt and sincere, as sweet as perfume to You.
SEEK HIS STILLNESS
Quietly reflect on God’s faithful love toward your spouse, specifically in their relationships. Take a few moments to become aware of God’s loving presence surrounding both of you this very moment.
TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS
Lord God, I trust You to bring godly friends into my spouse’s life who will encourage them to walk in righteousness. I cannot force these relationships to happen, but You can accomplish what seems impossible. I trust You.
