- STEP 1: Watch the Video
- STEP 2: Complete the Assignments
Today's Assignments
1. Review James 1:9-12. What does it mean to you?
2. Chip offers three steps and questions to ask yourself to take to “slay the dragon of discouragement.”
• You have to reevaluate your circumstances.
Question: Is my faith in things that are perishable or things that are permanent?
• You have to reevaluate your focus.
Question: Is my hope determined by the size of my problems or the certainty of God’s promise?
• You have to reevaluate your motivation.
Question: Is the primary motivation of my heart to love Christ or simply get relief and please myself?
3. Life is hard! We WILL suffer. How does James show us how to suffer well?
Faith: God is in control.
Hope: You are His child. He has a plan, a place, and a promise for you, now and forever.
Love: Suffering is an opportunity to express our love for God with the kind of attitude that gives Him glory.
4. Pray and ask God to train you in The A.R.T. of Survival.
