 <div class="nb">1on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai: 2&#8220;Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jozadak,#2:2 Hebrew Jehozadak, a variant of Jozadak; also in verse 4 the high priest, and to the remnant of the people. Ask them, 3&#8216;Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not seem to you like nothing? 4But now be strong, Zerubbabel,&#8217; declares the Lord. &#8216;Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,&#8217; declares the Lord, &#8216;and work. For I am with you,&#8217; declares the Lord Almighty. 5&#8216;This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.&#8217;</div><div class="p"> 6&#8220;This is what the Lord Almighty says: &#8216;In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,&#8217; says the Lord Almighty. 8&#8216;The silver is mine and the gold is mine,&#8217; declares the Lord Almighty. 9&#8216;The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,&#8217; says the Lord Almighty. &#8216;And in this place I will grant peace,&#8217; declares the Lord Almighty.&#8221;</div>

 <div class="p">13When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16To those who sold doves he said, &#8220;Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father&#8217;s house into a market!&#8221; 17His disciples remembered that it is written: &#8220;Zeal for your house will consume me.&#8221;#2:17 Psalm 69:9</div><div class="p"> 18The Jews then responded to him, &#8220;What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 19Jesus answered them, &#8220;Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 20They replied, &#8220;It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?&#8221; 21But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.</div><div class="p"> 23Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.#2:23 Or in him 24But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.</div>

Isn&#8217;t his mother&#8217;s name Mary, and aren&#8217;t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56Aren&#8217;t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?&#8221; 57And they took offense at him.</div><div class="p">But Jesus said to them, &#8220;A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 58And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.</div>
