Sister Roar

DAY 5 OF 5

I do know that in heaven we’ll live in eternity with God, where there will be no tears, no sorrow, no darkness. We’ll let go of our worn-out bodies. Scriptures say that Jesus will transform our earthly bodies into glorious ones like his, beautiful and whole (Phil. 3:20–21).

I long for the day I receive that inheritance! It’s like the greatest gift of all—a gift waiting to be unwrapped at the end of our days. The Bible says He has something stored up for us in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear (1 Peter 1:3–9).

Best of all, I’ll be with Him, praising Him and enjoying Him. . . .

I have a friend who was raised on a farm in Oklahoma. One day on the farm, her precious mother, an angel to all who knew her, was struck by lightning. It fatally burned the insides of her body. The best they could do was keep her comfortable. She was a faith-filled Christian woman. In the hospital before she drew her last breath, she looked at her husband. He told her he loved her and she told him that she loved him. Then she said, "I'm ready to go home, to my Lord." And then she closed her eyes, smiled, and was gone. She had eagerly awaited the coming of her Lord. Her family believes that as she smiled and drew her last breath she met Him. In an instant, she received her inheritance, she received her new body and the Lord met her with her reward—she’s now in His presence forever. How could I ever wish for more than that? . . .

That’s why we pray that you, sister, will find your voice and use it for the glory of God! Tap into the blessing of community and be persistent in hospitality. When women of faith cheer each other on it’s so, so good!

Prayer

Lord, thank You for creating a place for me in heaven. Please help me use my voice to teach others about what awaits them when they follow Jesus. Amen.
