Crowned With Glory & Honor

DAY 1 OF 3

Love His Commandments

What does true love look like? How can we love the right way? The righteous kind of love that we are all seeking from God is exactly what He is seeking from us—one that follows His character of goodness, grace, and mercy. There's something deeper to His love and the way that our lives will look when our world revolves around Him. This is the light we desperately need, and it is what He wants us to reflect back to the world.

God always intended for man to be crowned with glory and honor. Revelation 1:5–6 says, “To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

To be crowned speaks of authority, power, dominion, and majesty. We have been chosen by God to be kings and priests. As kings we have authority and dominion in the natural realm, and as priests we have authority and power in the spirit realm.

Mankind sinned and lost their ability to function in the power and authority God had bestowed upon them. God always planned for man to rule and reign with Him, but when Adam and Eve sinned mankind was disqualified. Everything in the kingdom of heaven is about authority. When Adam and Eve violated God's commands they broke the law of love.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). The law of love expresses itself in obedience to God the Father. We cannot say we love God and live in disobedience to His Word. We see this again and again in Scripture.

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

—John 14:21

God created mankind to be crowned with authority, glory, and honor, but we lost this in the garden. The Father then began the process of redeeming us from the law of sin and death. The wages of sin is death, but we see Jesus, “who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone" (Heb. 2:9).
