Living in God's PresenceSample

Serve others as though it is the Lord you are serving.
“… doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man...” (Ephesians 6:6-7)
Living with God adds an extra dimension to our efforts. How often are we busy serving other people? Sometimes that is part of our job or we might even be forced to do it, like the slaves Paul addresses in his letter. Sometimes we help others of our own accord, as in the examples Jesus mentions in Matthew 25:31-40. But in both cases, it is ultimately not just people whom we help or serve, but the Lord God. For, Jesus says, “as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40). The people in His example are not even aware that they have served God by treating others well. But the Lord did notice and He rewards them for it.
Living with God means being aware of this extra dimension in your life. Sometimes your work may seem so meaningless. Maybe your efforts are not appreciated by anyone, but they are valued by God!
