DAY 7 OF 9

Pillar 5 - Priority

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Adam was there the whole time. The seemingly perfect man, given all authority over the earth and everything that walks on its surface, fly in its air, or swims in its oceans, did nothing. He watched his wife be deceived by the devil. Adam did nothing with the power and authority given to him by God. He could have stepped up and told the serpent to shut his mouth and depart; after all, Adam did name all the creatures on earth and surely knew the serpents’ name. But he didn’t. Tragically, he chose to do nothing.

Where did Adam go wrong?

First, he took for granted what was given to him. Second, he didn't trust the word of the living God. Thirdly he may have had a strong man's physique, but spiritually he was weak! Ultimately, he got his priorities mixed up. But you don't have to be like the first Adam.

In his wife's most significant time of need, when he was commanded by God to deny the fruit, Adam’s priority was to stand firm for Eve and protect her from the deception of the serpent. Adam was given a chance to do the following:

1-Honor God,

2-Move in faith, and

3-Protect all that was given to him

But he blew it. We all have done the same, at one time or another. But his messing up doesn't nullify a command from God, and God has spoken this word –

"But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV.

And also

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

God knows that the world is fallen, that man is broken, and things are only getting worse in these end times. Still, He never turns His back on us or abandons us. Instead, He says, this is who I am (revealed in Jesus Christ), and in the same way, this is how you ought to be. When man turned his back on God, causing the entire world to crumble and decay morally and spiritually, God sought after man and chose to die on our behalf so that we may know the glory of knowing Him. This is our highest priority: Making God our FIRST priority! Which means obeying His commandments and seeking after His heart.

You can choose to be like the first Adam or the second Adam, that is Christ. If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, His Power, and His Authority have been reinstated in your heart! With this enablement, God expects us to move forward in this lost and broken world, live as Christ lived, honor God, protect our families, seek correction, and build a Christ-centered Legacy! None of this is possible without our Lord as the supreme priority of our life. Where is He on YOUR priority list, friend? Something to think about. May God Bless you today. Amen!
