Lord, Please! Send Someone Else: Moving in Your Mission When You Are Not MotivatedSample
In studying Moses, we see how unmotivated he was to become the man who parted the Red Sea, delivered the 10 Commandments, and facilitated a freedom movement for the Israelites. He had zero motivation and zero interest to leave his current life of comfort.
Recently, I prayed and asked God to help with my weight journey. I made several changes to my diet and experienced some success. However, I recognize that I ultimately need to add more exercise. I did not grow up valuing exercise so it doesn't come easily nor is it something I innately desire. As I prayed, He replied, "Rachel, you are waiting to be motivated to start working out. Stop waiting and move!"
He wanted me to know that when I become willing to move, things with my health and weight will improve even more. But I have to do my part.
Now, I can list many reasons why I don't want to exercise. Nevertheless, those reasons, or excuses, won't get me any closer to my goal.
When Moses had exhausted his list of excuses, God eventually became frustrated and allowed someone else to help him, but He didn't remove the responsibility from him.
The same is true for us. God isn't going to take that responsibility away from us entirely either. While we delay, He isn't going to choose someone else to do the tasks we have been putting off. We have been taught that if we put something off long enough, God may give it to someone else to do. When trying to avoid our difficult assignments, we may convince ourselves of this. However, that’s not the case. Moses, Jonah, and Jeremiah prove that avoidance does not remove our responsibility for the assignment.
You have been chosen to be His vessel that brings heaven to Earth. The sooner you start your mission, the sooner you can see what's on the other side and what’s next.
So, where do you go from here?
You start the business, homeschool the children, begin the ministry, apply for the home loan, write the book proposal, interview for the position, start the podcast, or join the Bible study. Whatever you have delayed, that’s where you begin.
It’s time to accomplish what God has called you to do.
He isn't going to send anyone else. He is sending you! What an honor to be chosen to do great work for the Creator of heaven and Earth. Let's partner with Him today.
And, just like Moses, when we are willing to move in our missions, although we might not be motivated, we get to experience wonderful miracles. So let's move!

About this Plan
Moses spends a chapter and a half in the book of Exodus trying to convince God that he was not the man for the job. With excuse after excuse, Moses made every effort to get out of God’s request to help set His people free. Throughout this devotional, we, like Moses, will learn to move toward the missions God has given us even when we are not motivated.
