Love God Greatly - God With UsSample

SOAP – Matthew 27:46
Jesus Christ’s passion and innocent suffering was for all people. God made a way for His creation to unite with Him and take away His wrath against sin. Jesus became sin for us and entirely took on the fierce fury and wrath of God. Because of Jesus, we can have reconciliation with God. Because Jesus was forsaken by His Father, believers will never be forsaken.
In what circumstance are you feeling forsaken by God? Believers must rest in God’s promise that He will never leave or forsake us. Any trial that God has allowed is for His glory and will lead to our holiness and deeper intimacy with Him.
Father God, I thank You for Your great sacrifice. Your Son, Jesus, became every sin I have ever or will ever commit. When the temptation comes to feel like You have forsaken me, remind me of the Cross. When the temptation comes to doubt Your love for me, remind me of the Cross. Help me to rest in the knowledge that You sacrificed Your Son so that I would never be separated from You again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

In the Old Testament, the people of God looked forward in anticipation to the coming of the Messiah. This Advent required lots of waiting, trusting, and patience. Even now we are in a season of Advent, aren’t we? In this 4-week Love God Greatly Online Advent Bible study, we will look at some of the Old Testament promises of the Savior and the humility that would characterize Him. We will study why He came and the response of various people in the Christmas story, including how we too should respond to Jesus and His coming.
