Love God Greatly - God With UsSample

SOAP – 2 Samuel 7:12-13
Jesus Christ is our Messiah who will rule forever. He will rule on this earth as our divine King of kings and Lord of lords physically during the Millennial Kingdom. Until Jesus returns and establishes His physical rule, He desires to rule our hearts and minds as we represent Him to a lost world. He wants to share His very life with us in divine intimacy, living within us, reigning over our hearts, and leading us as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Who rules your heart? If we aren’t diligent, we can find our emotions, ego, pride, and self-righteousness reigning on the throne of our hearts. We must fight to keep Jesus in His rightful place so that our focus is on aligning our hearts with His.
Father God, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. Let Your desires reign supreme in our homes, in our churches, in our governments, in our school systems, and in our lives. May Your desires reign in our hearts and minds. Lord, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

In the Old Testament, the people of God looked forward in anticipation to the coming of the Messiah. This Advent required lots of waiting, trusting, and patience. Even now we are in a season of Advent, aren’t we? In this 4-week Love God Greatly Online Advent Bible study, we will look at some of the Old Testament promises of the Savior and the humility that would characterize Him. We will study why He came and the response of various people in the Christmas story, including how we too should respond to Jesus and His coming.
