Inspiration and Illumination - Proverbs 30
The Bible is not just a book. It is the very Word of God spoken to us. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed.” The Holy Spirit moved on the authors of the Bible to write the Scriptures. That’s called inspiration. They didn’t write the words on their own. Now, when we read the Bible, the same Holy Spirit that moved the authors speaks to us. That’s called illumination. Sometimes I read a verse I’ve read hundreds of times, but this time, something different jumps out at me. That’s the Holy Spirit illuminating God’s Word and making it practical for my life.
Take time every day and read God’s Word. As you do, you’re interacting with the Holy Spirit. God’s Word will inspire, convict, strengthen, and protect you.
“Father, thank you for Your Word. As I read it today, speak to me and fill me with inspiration for my day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
