The early Church had been attacked from the outside by the jealous Jewish leaders. The church had been attacked from within by members who had chosen to sin. God had provided, protected, and strengthened the apostles to establish the new Christian faith, and the church had grown quickly. Now, the apostles would face a new attack on their ministry. The needs of the people were distracting the apostles from their calling to preach the gospel. God’s answer would lead the Church to a new level of global influence.
