Video Transcript:

Where do you look for comfort in life? There are plenty of things that can bring us comfort and lift our spirits for a short time: food, television, shopping, fun.. these things, they're not bad. They can be good—blessings from God. But the relief they bring us can quickly fade. God offers us a different kind of comfort, the kind that lasts.

"The Comforter" - that's one of the names the Bible gives the Holy Spirit. He brings His comforting, peaceful presence to dwell right inside of us. Jesus Christ said that part of the reason He sacrificed Himself was so that the Comforter could come, who would never leave us, and He could be in us, leading us to all truth. This Holy Spirit deposit,—it's a gift of grace to us. It's also a model of how we can comfort others. We can offer comfort from a Comforter who will never leave!

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 puts it this way:

...God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort that God has given us.

Would you like to experience comfort that doesn't fade? Ask the Holy Spirit for more of His peaceful presence.

Join me in prayer...

Holy Spirit, come. Comfort us in these hard times. We run to your presence. Jesus, You came to reign as the Prince of Peace. Reign in peace over my life. You lovingly carry our burdens. Help us to comfort others like You do. You promise a day when weeping will be no longer. Help us to live today in the hope that that promise brings. Amen.

God offers the best comfort.

About this Plan

Who Is God?

It happens to us all. Conflicting messages cloud our vision. Pain and suffering wear our faith thin. Whether you've been following Him for a few days or a few years, we understand how easy it is to lose sight of who God truly is. Join us on a 15-day journey into the character of God. Be reminded how glorious He is, and how much He cares for you.
