Have you ever had someone keep a promise to you? If you have, you know that it's a special thing for someone to follow through on that promise. A huge level of trust goes into counting on someone to keep a promise that they've made. When promises that were made aren't kept, it becomes harder for us to trust others, and it becomes even harder to trust God.
When we look at the many books in the Old Testament, we can see that God has a long history of keeping promises and taking care of people. From Egypt to the wilderness, God continues to care for the Israelites as they take a risk. Risks that meant not being sure of what's to come when they made bold decisions for God. As we look at the Psalms — a collection of songs and poems — we can see that even the Psalmist looks back and recalls how God has kept promises. We can trust that as we take risks, God will be with us and take care of us.
What would it look like to take a risk for Jesus today?

About this Plan

We all want to make a difference! We dream of making an impact and making the world a better place. The people who’ve made the biggest differences did it with other people. Jesus gave his followers a mission that would change the world — not as individuals, but as a group on a mission together. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we’ll explore this mission.
