Born to Fly Like an Eagle!

DAY 1 OF 5

Born to Fly

On a scale of one to five, if you had to rate how well you think your life is going, what would your rating be?

Most Christians would probably say life is fine—not exciting or bland. That sounds like a comfortable seat. But God didn’t design you to be comfortable; He designed you to live boldly (Acts 4 & 2 Timothy 1:7 & Joshua 1:9).

And you wouldn’t be reading this Bible plan if you didn’t see a glimpse of that desire in you. Somewhere deep inside, there’s a calling to act with boldness—but what is it?

Perhaps it’s scary to think that the God of all creation has something big specifically designed for you. After all, it’s easier to live life on autopilot and believe that God called someone else.

But you were born to fly!

You were meant to soar to great heights.

Who said that?

Well, God.

Ephesians says that God has good things planned for us, and He intends for the good works we do in our lives to glorify Him, build His Kingdom, and serve others. It shouldn’t surprise you that you have unique talents and skills given to you by God according to His plan for your life.

You are meant to soar to great heights, but how can it be done?

Paul discusses the truth about human nature in Ephesians 4.

When you come to Christ, you become a new person, created by God himself. And that requires a process. The renewal of your mind doesn’t happen overnight.

But notice this exciting part: you are created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness!

To be righteous like God means to be excellent at doing and being good.

And to be holy like Him means to be set apart or different. And that, that's God's will: For you to live a different life than the one you see around you. Born to fly!

Prayer
Father, help me understand what it means to be like You. Help me to see that I am made in Your image so I can do wonderful things for others. I long to use my full potential to put to use what You have placed inside me. Lead me through this Bible plan and highlight what is relevant to me.

Reflection
What does it mean to you that you are created to be like God?
