Never Alone

Child abandonment and absentee parenting are unfortunate realities in our society. When the stress of becoming a parent or the overwhelming anxiety of raising children becomes too heavy, we see parents pull the rip cord on their obligations. Too often, we hear of parents (mostly dads) bugging out from the responsibility of loving and nurturing their offspring. Fortunately, our Heavenly Father never abandons us or falls short of his parental duties.

Suffice it to say, we have all given Him more than enough reasons to turn His back on us in disappointment and contempt. Our sinful disobedience, alone, is enough to deserve hell and judgment. However, God’s grace, forgiveness, and mercy are enough to redeem what we have blemished and tarnished. Rightly so, we could have easily been forsaken and forgotten, but God did more than we expected. He went above and beyond love and grace by sacrificing His son, Jesus, as a ransom for humanity. God never does the bare minimum. He never loves half-heartedly. He loves completely and unconditionally. He exceeds expectations.

When the world lets you down or hardship blazes its trail of relational turmoil or disappointment, my encouragement is to rest in the assurance and peace that you still have a Heavenly Father who is near. He wants us to seek him and lean on His unfailing grace and acceptance. We cannot do enough wrong to run Him off. We can’t sin so much that He is finally fed up and disowns us as His children. It’s not possible. Rest assured that you are never alone when you serve a God who loves above and beyond anything we can imagine.
