Moments for Mums: Power of Prayer for Mums - Part 2Sample

The instruction not to be anxious about anything seems like an impossible ask. Becoming a mum opened up a whole new world of potential anxiety. In the midst of this inner turmoil, the offer of peace is tantalizing.
A prayer is an act of surrender. I choose to take the issues to God instead of trying to figure it all out myself. I choose to trust that he is good and wants good things for me. Presenting my requests to God releases the outcome into his hands. It might not be what I want, but I can trust that he is with me through it all.
There is a key phrase in these verses: “with thanksgiving.” Gratitude is a foundation for prayer requests. We remember who God is and what he has already done for us. This frames our perspective as we present our requests.
The result of this repeated process of prayer is a peace that isn’t tied to circumstances but provides protection for our hearts and minds as we face the demands of life.
Question
What do you want to thank God for today? What requests do you need to present to him and release the outcome?
Prayer
Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and love. I present these requests to you today and ask for your peace. Amen.
