Unleash The Five Fold Spiritual GiftsSample

“Christ as Pastor”
When you hear the word “pastor,” what do you see? Probably not a picture of Jesus.
Although the word “pastor” sounds very odd when used to describe Christ, it is the way we most often relate to him.
Pastor in Latin means “shepherd.” If you have ever sought God for shelter, for comfort and guidance, you were relating to him as a pastor.
The way Christ loves us through the pastoral gift is by leading us out of troubled waters and into the safety and love of God and his kingdom.
He often reveals himself as a pastor by:
- Providing for us
- Protecting us
- Proving his faithfulness and goodness
- Planting certain people in our lives
- Pouring care and concern into us
Questions:
In difficult times, do you turn to Christ and listen for his voice?
Do you relate to Christ as protecting you from thieves and wolves?
When we remember him in this gift, we see our relationship as one cared for and loved. And we feel and appreciate the caring he provides us.
In what ways has Christ shown himself to be the “shepherd” in your life and expressed the gift of the pastor?
About this Plan

Spiritiual Gifts are often misunderstood, and, as a result, unexpressed to the detriment of the church. Unleashing the power of the gifts within your life and throughout you local body, however, can yield much fruit. In this 7-day introduction to the spiritual gifts described in Ephesians, we will learn about the gifts as demonstrated by the giver of these very gifts: Christ.
