Going Deeper - EphesiansSample
Paul continues his letter by delving into a deeply loving prayer for the believers at Ephesus which makes a potentially great outline for our own prayers. He asks God the Father to help his beloved children by giving them His spirit of wisdom and revelation with the purpose of knowing Him more. He expands this by explaining that through this revelation they would have a greater understanding of the hope that we find in Christ and a discovery of the great inheritance that this faith brings.
The chapter concludes with Paul explaining the position of the resurrected Christ and the kind of power and dominion that He exerts over everything seen and unseen. This should encourage us because the power that was exerted by God in raising Christ from the dead and seating him in the heavenly realms is available to every one of us who love Jesus and have chosen Him to be Lord and Saviour.
Even more encouraging is that everything that threatens to pull us apart or drag us down is actually under the feet of Jesus. We don’t need to be fearful or dismayed; instead we can stand in the authority and victory that Christ won for us when He triumphed over sin and death.
The vital component to receiving these truths in our lives requires that we desire greater relationship and intimacy with God so that as we walk with Him we see Him as He really is.
What have you been asking God for?
What if you asked for more of His Spirit so that you can better know God and His will for your life?
Have you been feeling powerless and discouraged? Read verses 19-23 loudly and boldly as your declaration. This is the God you love, serve and follow. His power and authority are above and beyond all that you need or can imagine.
