Exclusive Drop (A Series on Identity)Sample

Have you ever looked at someone and wanted to be like them? Maybe even felt jealous of them. Perhaps it’s a classmate who always has the answers or a sibling with incredible musical talent. Sometimes it can be hard to see your value when you don’t have the same gifts as those around you. Here’s the thing, though: Just because you can’t see your own gifts doesn’t mean they are not there. Just as a body has many parts with different functions, friend groups, churches, and communities have many people with different functions. What you uniquely bring to the table is important. You are unique. Comparison can rob you and the world around you of the unique ways you reflect God. The way you think—the talent you have. Even down to your unique laugh. . .all of it adds something unique to the groups of humans around you. Don’t allow comparison to cause you to lose sight of what’s true about you. What’s true about you is that your uniqueness is an important part of the world and the group of Jesus followers that we call “the Church.”
Today, pray and ask God to show you your gifts and how to use them to serve those around you.
