Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

DAY 40 OF 366

God Speaks

Our ears are important sensory organs. They help us hear different opinions, views and suggestions from our friends, family members, the television, the radio, the Internet, advertisements, music and so on. God also speaks to us in different ways. But the question is, do we choose to listen to Him? Our choices determine our destiny. Thus, it’s extremely important to recognize and make a conscious effort to listen to God’s voice among many others that bombard us.

God speaks directly to us very often. In 1 Kings 19:12, God spoke to Elijah in a gentle whisper. Sometimes, to hear God, we need to silence all the voices around us and spend time alone in His presence. Maybe we need to get into the prayer closet and wait for Him to speak. As we are patient, the Lord will speak to us. It takes the quietening of our minds to listen to His voice. Once we hear from the Lord, we have peace and our faith is built up. This spoken word is called the ‘rhema’ word.

The Lord also speaks to us directly through His Word. This written word is called the ‘logos’ word. As we read and meditate on the Word, He brings revelation and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes, the Lord may lead us into extended seasons of fasting and prayer, so that we can seek His face. He wants us to pray and get intimate with Him so that we can hear His voice more clearly.

The truth is that the Lord speaks to everyone; not just pastors, prophets or preachers. Are we listening to Him and obeying Him?

Prayer
Lord, give me ears that are willing to hear You speak to me. Help me to be obedient to Your voice. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
