Walk Through the Bible 365 - DecemberSample

For God’s Glory
The questions of ‘why’ are no more poignant than when related to sickness and death. There seems to be no logic; no pattern or reason. Like us, Jesus’ disciples longed for some understanding of why. And while Jesus didn’t give a concrete answer for this particular man, he did give us a principle that opens the curtain a bit: ‘... this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.’ Perhaps the pain or difficulty or unanswered questions you face will be used to display the awesome person and work of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, like the disciples, I want quick, easy, direct answers to sickness and death. I want 2 plus 2 to equal 4. Every time. And it just doesn’t. I know you can do anything; I don’t understand why you don’t in particular situations. But I also know, like Job, I need to step back and see your glory at work. Help me, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
