Starting Off the New Year Strong!Sample
You can be full of peace.
I'll never forget a trip I took when I was young to meet a woman who's a great role model for me. I flew to Hamburg, Germany, because I simply wanted to learn from her. I was so happy that she took time for me!
More valuable than anything she said, though, was the example she set that day. She took an urgent phone call and afterward shared with me that she had to raise 10,000 euros that day for her work helping women escape prostitution. It was a very, very big deal that day.
Amazingly, though, she sat with me in that café and took time for me! Completely relaxed and peaceful, she said, "Déborah, it doesn't change anything if I try now like crazy to raise the money. I know, without a doubt, that God will take care of it." Sure enough, another "unexpected" donation for that exact amount reached her that day! Wow! Wow! Wow!
Jesus came to bring peace to you, too: "For unto us a Child is born…And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end…" (Isaiah 9:6-7, NKJV).
And in Galatians, the Bible says, "...Christ lives in me…" (Galatians 2:20, NKJV). So, when you give your heart fully to Jesus, submitting your life to Him, His peace lives in you!
Peace isn't something you find dropped off at your front door. It's not a parcel or package you can earn or "pay for." However, peace can be found behind the door of your heart! If you haven't yet opened the door of your heart to Jesus, let's do it together today through prayer (see Revelation 3:20). The God of peace longs to come in and fill you with peace beyond your understanding!
Yes, no matter where we each find ourselves today, for a new year ahead, it's certain that we all will need His peace!!
Let's pray together today…"Jesus, I need this peace. I need You in my life. That's why I'm consciously choosing to open the door of my heart to You today. I pray I experience Your deep peace in a way I never have before! Thank You for Your peace that I know will help me start the new year full of strength! In Your name, amen."
You are a miracle!
Déborah
