Every Journey Begins With a StepSample

The reward of growing in faith is redemption, restoration, and reconciliation.
Even through all Abraham’s missteps, God didn’t give up on him. He walked along with Abraham and continued to teach him and draw him close, and we see a turning point in the story. Abraham surrendered to God and chose to follow Him fully.
God does all the redemptive work except our steps of faith. Our belief is the only requirement for salvation. When we choose to follow Him wholeheartedly, He will craft a beautiful story through our lives that will bring us closer to Him and prove a strong example for others to follow.
When we fully surrender our own agenda, desires, and sufficiency for Him, we get an even better return. It’s an unfair exchange: all of our junk for His promises. It seems He gets the raw end of the deal, but that’s just how He wants it. He invites us to come just as we are, and then He does the rest. We don’t have any gain for ourselves – it’s all for His glory.
God reconciles us to a perfect relationship with Him, and, as our faith grows, so does our trust in Him. Greater confidence leads to greater love. God was, and is, faithful to His promises. He promises to be with us and never leave us. Even in challenging times, He will give us wisdom and see us through.
God is writing a God story with your life! And, just as with Abraham, may we trust God and allow Him to set us right as we follow Him!
