Echo of God

DAY 8 OF 8

Echo of grace

Grace is the central message of the Christian faith. Everyone makes mistakes, including you. No matter how hard you try. Your works are not enough to meet God's standards. Every person needs grace. God's forgiving grace that saves and redeems him. Grace is unconditional. And grace is undeserved. Only when you have experienced this grace can you understand how much it is worth. Grace is the power that changes our lives. And grace enables you to be merciful and gracious even to others.

In Matthew 18, Jesus tells the story of a man who had experienced excessive grace. Although he owed the king a sum of millions, the king forgave him all his debts and set him free. At this point the story takes a bizarre turn. The king had shown him mercy in that his debts were forgiven. And mercy, in that he and his family were given back a life of freedom. Instead of being grateful, this man now acted with brutality against his fellow citizen. Yet the latter owed him only a small amount.

This story shows that grace always has an impact on your relationship with others. Jesus makes it clear that grace is not only a gift, but also an obligation. Grace must echo in your life. Receiving God's grace in the full measure becomes visible in your behavior with your neighbor.

You have come to the end of this Bible reading plan. More than ever, this world needs people like you. Someone who echoes God's love in this world. I'm interested in what you think about it! Some thoughts are from my book, "Find Your Mission". If you want to learn more about it, I'll be happy to send it to you. It is my gift for you. Just write to book@findyourmission.me for it.
