Jesus and PornSample

Your heart is very important to protect. Why is that important? If you give your heart to darkness, over time, that darkness begins to become normal. Porn is darkness. Once it invades the heart, it creates painful tears that continue to rip even deeper over time and become very difficult to heal. God tells us in Proverbs 4:23, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Whatever we allow into our hearts flows from it and directs our path in life. It is the same with porn; when we give our heart to porn, we allow it to flow into us and lead our life. To guard our hearts, we must be careful of what and who we give our hearts.

Imagine yourself as a soldier preparing for war. You have been given a shield to protect yourself from the enemy. Would you throw away that shield of protection?

It is the same for your heart. Since porn destroys the heart, It only makes sense to guard it at all times. Christ is your shield. He gives you what you need to overcome the enemy. Don’t ignore the weapons you have been given!

Matthew 6:21 says, “ Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” What is your treasure? What is your heart desiring right now? What do you desire more? Porn or Jesus?

Daily Challenge: If your heart has not been protected, take the time to repent and ask the Holy Spirit to help you defend your heart against porn. Meditate on this Scripture in the book of Philippians 4:7b, “ His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer:

“Jesus, thank you for being the protector of my heart. I pray that you help me guard my heart against porn. Whatever is wrong for my heart, I pray you help me stand firm with a shield of faith against porn. In Jesus’ name. Amen!”
