Jesus First for MenSample

Idle Lives
A man should be a model of hard work as he seeks to honor his God. Through the way he does his job, he should seek to display the character of Christ and the dependability of a Christian man. The writer of Proverbs says, “All hard work brings a profit.” Even those cheated out of their wages or who receive only losses on their labor get the profit of a stronger character. They are still blessed with the honor of growing in resilience, fortitude, and strength. No matter the size of the job, whether it be a corporate office or a home kitchen, the lessons are there.
Finally, the writer also warns that “mere talk leads only to poverty.” Work is a place of building relationships and sharing the kingdom, but if nothing is accomplished, it is no longer a place of work. The best spirit we can have at work is productivity combined with patience. We must have an eye for the eternal value of whatever we do.
Oh Lord, please make me a good worker. Bless the work of my hands this day.
