Unlike in Exodus, God doesn’t speak from burning bushes or part the sea in Ruth. In fact, He actually doesn’t directly appear in the story. Instead, God acts through circumstance and through the faithfulness of ordinary human beings. As Ruth faithfully worked, as she cared for Naomi, and as she remained loyal to God, He set in motion her story of redemption as He supernaturally led her toward Boaz.

About this Plan

The story of Ruth stands as a story of redemption. Coming from tragedy and as a foreign woman, Ruth is the last person we might expect to see the goodness of God. She becomes a key figure in the story of the Bible and the great-grandmother of King David himself!
