WORKING the WORDSample
ACT ON IT
James 2:18 “Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
The fourth choice you need to make to work the Word is Act On It. James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (NIV) So, in essence, the Word of God is saying, put your feet to your faith and drive your faith. You are believing God for a promotion, for fruitfulness, or for a project. Do something about it, drive it. Give feet to your faith. We prove we believe by how we behave. If you believe that the Word of God is true, your action will adjust. You must put the Word you hear into practice every day if it is going to work for you. What is that Word you have heard about your finances, health, or your walk with God? Get up and do something about it to work it and walk in it. The truth is when you act on God’s Word, God’s Word acts on you. The Word of God is quick and powerful.
So, how does the Word act on you? It is like a double-edged sword; the Word of God cuts down and destroys the enemies of your destiny. The Word of God is like a scalpel, it performs open heart surgery. It cuts between even soul and spirit. So beautiful and powerful. The Word of God is a balm, when you act on it, it acts on you by healing you. The Word of God is like a seed, it grows and flowers and changes the atmosphere with its fragrance. Luke 21:33 “Heaven and earth will disappear, earth and sky will be destroyed before one word I speak loses its power or fails to accomplish its purpose… my words will never disappear, never be destroyed, my words remain forever true.” (NLT & NCV & TPT)
So, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the fragrance of your life will be positive because of the growth of the seeds of the Word. The Word of God is like a fountain, it washes. The Word begins to work in your heart and your life, it cleanses and washes you. The Word of God is light, it brings illumination to darkness. Every darkness in your life, we speak illumination to it in the Name of Jesus. The Word of God is a mirror, it shows you who you are. You will not be confused again in the Mighty Name of Jesus. How does the Word work on you? The Word of God works on you like food. The Word of God is our water—our milk, our meat, our bread, our honey. The Word of God is our balanced diet, and when we act on the Word, the Word of God acts on us. I am determined that in my life, every promise of God will come to fruition. It is a choice that I have made. You have to choose to take full grasp of your life and choose to work the Word of God; so that it will be said about you like it was said about Israel, that not one promise God made to Israel remained unfulfilled. (Joshua 21:43)
You work the Word when you choose to Ingest It. Use whatever time you have but take your time while using it. You make the Word work in your life when you choose to Believe It. Remember, Biblical faith is choosing to believe something is true because you believe Someone is truthful. The Word works in your life when you choose to Declare It. When you say what God says you begin to think like God thinks. And as you think like God thinks everything becomes possible for you. The Word of God works for you when you choose to Act On It. When you act on God’s Word, God’s Word acts on you.
Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask for the grace to ingest, believe, declare, and act on Your Word consistently. Amen!
