When Did Jesus Serve?

Jesus was never too busy to serve others and didn’t think He was too important to help. He served, even at the worst times, such as in the midst of storms and trials.

A refugee is a person who leaves their home because of war or other terrible things. In 2021, many Syrian refugees had to escape their country because war was tearing apart their homeland. Faez al Sharra would not have been able to escape Syria if people hadn’t helped him along the way.

One day, on his way home from work, the police held Faez at gunpoint and accused him of carrying a hidden gun. A stranger saw him with his hands in the air, so she pretended she was his mother and begged the soldiers to let him go. They eventually did. Faez decided his home was no longer safe to stay.

Faez finally made it to a refugee camp. He worked with many helpful organizations and people before he found a place to go. After he arrived in the U.S., many people helped Faez find a home and a job. He did not forget the acts of kindness when he escaped. Those small ways of helping saved his life.

Many people helped Faez get to a safe place because they were at the right place and time. God is always at the right place at the right time. In Philippians 2:5-7, the verse says, “he made himself nothing.” That’s another way of saying that Jesus gave up everything to serve us.

Jesus showed sinners He cared about them by eating with them, which got people pretty angry.

One day, Jesus saw a man named Zacchaeus climbing a tree. Zacchaeus was a small guy and couldn’t see Jesus above the crowd, so he climbed a tree to get a better view. Jesus called to him, “Zacchaeus, you come down. I am going to your house today!”

Boy, were people mad! To make things even worse, Zacchaeus was the “chief tax collector.” He was the Boss Tax Man. But that didn’t stop Jesus from eating with him. Jesus changed Zacchaeus’s life forever just by sharing a meal with him.
