Fruit of the SpiritSample
Do you have a lamp in your house? Perhaps you use it for reading, or maybe you like to have it on at night when you go to sleep. To make it work, and the light to turn on, it has to stay connected to its power source! Whether it needs batteries or to be plugged into the electrical outlet in your wall, if it’s not connected to power, the light won’t turn on.
For us to bear fruit we need to stay connected to Christ. He is the Vine and we are the branches. On a grapevine a branch can’t be cut off from the vine and keep bearing fruit. It needs to stay connected. We need to stay connected to Jesus, remaining in Him.
Remember the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5? One of them is ‘kindness’. Kindness is showing God’s love to others. Not just to the people we are friends with but showing God’s love to ALL people. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us what God’s love is like, how we can show His kindness. Now that’s the type of kindness that the Holy Spirit in us produces. Kindness that shines bright like a light!
Stay connected to Christ and bear fruit.
