God's Redemption Story (Exodus - Joshua)Sample

What is it about rules that make us pull away? Looking back to the Garden of Eden, we see a resistance to the rules from the beginning. A doubt that someone else, even God, could know what is best for us. Perhaps that doubt of God’s goodness causes us to balk at what feels like too many rules from God. We’re quick to dismiss rules in the name of grace and move forward doing our own thing.
What if rules and grace aren’t always separate? God’s grace, his offer of salvation, removes our need to save ourselves through works, something we could never do without Him. He didn’t leave us to figure life out on our own. In his love and grace, he gave us rules to lead us in the safe and healthy ways of the Lord.
