Divine Disruption: When God Changes the Unchangeable
Are you caught in a seemingly immoveable and unchangeable situation? Often we succumb to the human instinct to focus on the physical realm, and as a result, our faith may wane. God has the power to nullify old decrees and write new narratives that shift you towards deliverance and victory.
If an earthly king like Ahasuerus can extend an unconditional invitation to request anything of him, don’t you think your Heavenly Father can do the same for you? It is not your job to figure out how God’s going to provide; it is your job to ask. The story of Esther stands testament to the fact that God's interventions surpasses human understanding and expectation.
Esther’s life also teaches us that when we pray for blessings and promotions, we must also pray for wisdom to handle these open doors appropriately. Often we can become so preoccupied with the blessing itself that we overlook the need for wisdom to steward it well.
- When God opened a door for Esther, she didn't rush in. Instead, she had a wise step-by-step plan, towards the end goal of rescuing the Jews. She was not hasty. She knew that if God opens one door, He will open other doors as well. God, who made the king extend his sceptre to Esther, will also make his heart favourable to her bigger request as well. We must not be hasty to get things done, but follow the path that God points to us with patient endurance and wisdom.
- Esther demonstrated great wisdom in the way she approached the king with her petition. Before presenting her plea to the king, she first sought to please him. When we pray, our primary aim should be to please God and worship Him for who He is, rather than focusing solely on our needs. We should aim to honour Him first.
Today believe that God is drafting new documents in various aspects of your life. Envision these new documents overturning any past records of pain, heartache, and defeat.
Reflection time:
- Reflect on a situation in your life that appears unchangeable. How can you shift your perspective to trust God's promise to perform the "undoable" in this circumstance?
- What steps can you take to ensure that you are not only seeking blessings from God but also His wisdom to steward these blessings?
Have a little chat with God about all that you have written down.
