Proclaim

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Phil. 4:8-9)

Prompt

I’ve come to learn that change rarely takes place until our level of desperation overwhelms our current situation. Whether it’s overcoming an addiction, forgiving a spouse, finally starting to exercise, or dieting the way you need to… all lasting change starts with desperation.

When I am really seeking a breakthrough in an area of my life, sometimes I ask God this question: “Am I desperate enough yet?”

Gratitude springs from desperation, especially when it’s fulfilled.

Today and every day, I want to be spiritually desperate for more of God in my life. Enough of me. Enough of selfish desires. Enough of comparisons and ego-tripping. I just want more of God and the things of Him.

God, I am desperate for you. And that desperation leads me to be grateful for the changes when they come.
