On Way to Serve You

DAY 2 OF 3

WHAT ARE YOU SOWING?

I recommend reading the reference verses first.

Paul here is presenting us with a great principle that never changes and that operates in all areas of life. This principle is that everything we sow (good or bad) is what we are going to reap. Sometimes it becomes difficult to sow something good when in this world the majority is inclined to do everything bad, and even more so, when we see that those people who sow evil do very well in this life.

But in the face of this supposed setback, we are aware that, even if they are enjoying the good, that will not last forever, since sooner rather than later God will enforce his justice, and everything in this world will one day pass away.

Some believe they are super-just; they say they carry the banner of holiness, but when the time comes to help their neighbor, their reaction is to turn their backs. Today it seems that there is no time or desire to help the needy, and one of the most important commandments given by Jesus is left aside:

"You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these" (Mark 12:31).

We, as Christians, have the mandate to be there for those who really need us, always looking to lend a helping hand, ready at all times to give moral and spiritual support when we see the need. Do not get tired of doing good; if it is not today, the day will come when you will reap from your sowing. For this, you need to change your heart, lest you end up belittling that person who may need you.

How long must you love your neighbor? Paul tells you: "Do not get tired of doing good ..." How many times will you have to extend your hand? Paul tells you: "Whenever you have the opportunity, do good to everyone, and especially to those in the family of faith."

Application: How is the seed that I am sowing? Do I take care of having a good harvest?

Advice: Remember that this is YOUR time with God; ask the Holy Spirit for the revelation of the Word. Do not think first of another person, or make a general reflection. Think about your life, about what God wants with you, and then help others.

Prayer: My dear Abba Father, I know that you have adopted me into your family thanks to Jesus Christ, who has entrusted me with the seed of the Gospel by saving me and becoming Lord of my life. From this moment I will be a good and faithful worker for you. I will sow in everything within my reach, open my eyes, remove the veil, to see every opportunity you give me. Keep praying in your own words.
