Daily Prayers for Mornings

DAY 3 OF 10

Free to Exalt You

LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You. I will praise Your name, for You have accomplished wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. ISAIAH 25:1 CSB

Nowadays it's easy to be shortsighted. Everything happens so instantaneously that thinking about the years and decades to come might not happen as regularly. We have access to answers at the touch of a button. We can hop on an airplane to visit someone many miles away. But when we look through the pages of Scripture, we see a plan so intricate and so intentional that points us straight to the faithfulness of God. God told of His plan in the Old Testament and brought it to completion in the New Testament. It spans centuries and accounted for the shortcomings of the people it was put into motion for. How can we not stop and celebrate the faithfulness of God when we think about this wondrous plan?

Lord God, thank You for revealing time and time again that Your knowledge and power are too great to even comprehend. From the beginning of time, You knew the ways we would fail. You knew we would continue to come up short. But this did not stop You from creating a world full of beauty for us to enjoy. You sent Your Son for us and allowed Him to die in our place so that we might enjoy a life of freedom. God, I exalt You. I think of Your name and sing for gladness! Help me to meditate on Your goodness and faithfulness for all the years of my life. Thank You for setting Your plan of salvation into motion before the beginning of time. Thank You for Your faithfulness as You patiently wait for more people to turn their hearts to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
