Lord, Teach Me My Assignment | The Introduction
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
John 1:14 clarifies that this eternal Being called The Word, Who also is God, later becomes a Human. John further identifies Him as Jesus Christ. Jesus is God. His earthly life began in Bethlehem, but as the Son of God, Jesus is Eternal and was present in creation as Creator. In fact, “all things were made by Him.” In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells a parable concerning a Sower who sowed the Word into the soil. One especially important application of this parable is that it speaks of God (the Sower) and His people (the Soil). God has placed a measure of Himself, The Word, inside every human — the soil — walking on the face of the earth. If you are creative, it is because He is the Creator. If you sing, draw, write, organize, preach, play, plan, plant, analyze, or strategize, all these things reveal the beauty of The Giver — God Himself. If you are a cosmetologist, bringing chaotic hair to order, you must give credit to Christ your Creator. Remember, “the earth was without form and void,” but God, The Word, was able to form heaven and earth…beautifully. Why does this matter? Because Jesus, God in flesh, came to save you from sin and purposelessness. God reveals Who He is, in part, by revealing His purpose for your life. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy the God in you, including the beautiful God-purpose in you. Do not allow Satan to steal who you could become by failing to seek the Sower. Seek the Sower, and He will unveil The Seed He placed inside you. God made you with a certain purpose, a specific assignment in mind. The question is…are you ready to discover it? Yes? Well, here we go…
But first, let us pray…
LORD, teach me my assignment.
Amen.
