Milestones - Salvation, Baptism, CommunionSample
Communion is a gift left for us by Jesus. A simple tradition with ordinary items like bread and wine, but it’s special because it reminds us of what Jesus has done for us. The bread and wine remind us of Jesus on the cross. The bread is like His body, broken for us, and the wine or juice reminds us of His blood shed for us. The cross is the most significant event in all of history, and Jesus’ death and resurrection is the most significant thing in my life. Jesus has given us the bread and cup to remember Him.
From the garden of Eden, when sin entered this world and separated us from God, we have had no way of repairing this tear on our own. Jesus came down from heaven and became one of us. He lived a perfect life and then gave that life to pay for sin, now and forever, so we could be reunited with God.
Communion reminds us that our debt is paid, and nothing separates us from God. Next time you take communion, be reminded of what Jesus has done and how you are no longer a prisoner to sin.
