God's Redemption Story (Judges - 2 Samuel)Sample

David as a Child - 1/5
David was told he would be king one day, but before that, he took care of sheep, played music for a man who wanted to kill him, fought a giant, and more. None of these things probably felt worthy of a king, and maybe David felt above those jobs. Yet, David chose to serve the Lord and those around him well as he waited for a crown.
Sometimes we turn our noses up at the unglamorous jobs, discount our ability to help in a specific ministry, or just flat-out refuse to consider an opportunity in front of us if it doesn’t feel like “the thing” God has called us to. How would our opinion of that job, ministry, or opportunity change if it wasn’t our end goal but a way to serve God now? What if, through those "now" opportunities, God is preparing us for our future callings?
