Seven Sins That Will Destroy Your LifeSample

How to be set free from a critical spirit (2)
A critical spirit is a subtle form of pride. It will cause people to elevate themselves above others, despise others and their contributions, or see them as inferior. People with a critical spirit develop "hard" hearts, are ruthless, and always know better.
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you your heart. For many, the hardest part is admitting to having a critical spirit and being judgmental. Ask the Holy Spirit where it comes from. You will find incidents where people hurt you, jealousy that entered your heart, roots of bitterness, and incidents where you were humiliated or rejected. Forgive. Lay all these things at the feet of Jesus.
You have to choose to say no to this thing. Begin to start immediately giving credit to other people for what they are doing right. Make all effort to encourage them and help them to be even more successful than they already are. Start praying that God will bless, use, and protect them.
Find someone close to you who can keep you "accountable" for your comments and conversations. We must act radically against this sin in our lives. It is a dangerous sin that will bring you under God's judgment and destroy the work of the Holy Spirit in you.
