Psalms - Wisdom for Life

DAY 9 OF 15

In the Australian Army, officers are given titles that show their rank. This rank is the authority given to them to command and lead others. The higher the rank, the more people he or she is responsible for. Australian Army commissioned officers are given their authority personally signed by the Governor-General of Australia on behalf of the King.

The rank of Officer Cadet is given to those who are studying and training.

A Lieutenant rank is given to someone who commands a troop of around 30 soldiers.

The rank of Captain is normally second-in-command of around 120 soldiers.

Above Captain is the rank of Major. Next, there are Lieutenant Colonels who command units of up to 650 soldiers! Above them are the ranks of Colonel, Brigadier, Major General, Lieutenant General, and then the highest rank in the whole Australian Army is General. The General is the chief of the Defense Force.

Each rank in the army has different authority; the higher the rank, the more authority it has. There is one name that outranks them all. One name that is higher than the General of the Army and even higher than a king or queen. The name of Jesus is higher than any other.

No matter what we’re facing, the name of Jesus is higher. The name of Jesus is greater than the name of sickness, greater than the name of troubles, greater than the name of sadness or disappointment. We can praise God no matter what is happening in our lives.

About this Plan

Psalms - Wisdom for Life

We can find wisdom for life in the pages of the Bible and one of the most well-known wisdom books, Psalms. Through the life of David, who wrote many of the Psalms, discover that this book is more than just a collection of poems. It shows us how to praise God with a thankful heart, to trust Him in troubled times, and that we have victory in Jesus' name.
