What does it look like to be different?

Over the last few days, we learned that Jesus was different. He hung out with sinners, talked to women, and performed countless miracles for God! He didn’t compromise His beliefs or His purpose, yet always showed love to people. But Jesus wasn’t different alone. He had 12 disciples who helped each other be different together. 

In the same way Jesus was a light to this world, let’s let His light shine through us. We do that by being real, not fake. Why? Because being real isn’t just about people seeing us. It’s about people seeing Christ in us. Another way we’re different is by being spiritual contributors, not spiritual consumers. We’ll choose to give, not take. And we’ll give our time, talents, and resources to serve others. We know that it’s better to give than receive, and we become more like Jesus when we choose to serve and give. 

When we’re different, it gives others something to look at. So let’s be an example of what it looks like to follow Jesus. And if we do that, we can help others find the love that Jesus has shown us!
