Reaching the PromisedSample
THE STARTING POINT
Faith Development
The desert is seemingly void of all life, but given a bit of rainfall, life springs into existence and beauty. Life is there, but it is dormant. Unbelief is like that. It is the desert of one's being. But the potential for life is there and needs only to be watered by faith to spring into existence and beauty. George Muller, a great man of faith, once said, "God delights to increase the faith of His children. Instead of wanting no trials before victory and no exercise for patience, we ought to be willing to take them from God's hand as a means. I say—and say it deliberately—trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats are the same food that your faith needs."
God has promised you that He will lead you to the promised land! That He would take you by the hand and get you to a place of understanding the bigger picture.
The biggest mistake in Christianity is when people hear about the promised land God has for us through the filter of our selfish ways. We automatically think it has to do with us. It is all about that material blessing we are asking God for. The house, the better car, and more income to do more with your money. This is the cat-and-mouse game the enemy wants us to enter. To chase after God because of what He can give us rather than pursue God because He is worthy of our praise. He is worthy of us surrendering our lives to Him.
The concept of scripture about the promised land
The Bible describes this place as a land with milk and honey, with grapes as big as apples, and everything is perfect. It is a metaphor and a spiritual status that a believer must pursue, but not for his benefit. Why is God so focused on getting the believer to this promised land? He could have just said I have this promise for you that you will get to heaven if you endure. Before Jesus went to the cross, He could not make this promise, as humanity's relationship with God was not restored. This is why Jesus had to reconcile us to the Father. Through Jesus, we get the natural promised land of eternal life, where all tears will be wiped away. There will be joy, and it will be an amazing reunion.
Jesus has always promised that we will see God face to face one day, which should get us excited and empowered to fight against the enemy. As I see my life through every defeat, I have seen God work it out and deliver me to the promised place He told me. God's gift of salvation is the most significant promise anyone can receive; the fact that He calls us His children is a privilege.
There is a blessing for your family in this promised land.
There is a blessing for your marriage in this promised land.
There is a blessing for those around you in this promised land.
