Grow With God: 31 Day DevotionalSample

THIS IS JUST WHO I AM
DAY TWENTY THREE OF THIRTY ONE
Our brains have been conditioned to think a certain way from the time we were born until now. That is unless you’ve chosen to do the work it takes in order to retrain it.
“This is just how I am.” “Love me or leave me alone.” This is how many people think. Not only does this go against God’s Will, but it’s also a setup for failure.
Unless we renew our minds to believe what Scripture says and apply it, we will always make decisions based on what we think is best instead of seeking God for His Perfect Plan.
The enemy would love to have us believe that doing what we want is empowering and choosing to change is a form of weakness. The opposite couldn’t be more true.
Being willing to submit to an Authority (God) shows just how much strength you have because your flesh is always being tested to do what feels good instead of what’s right. You’re proving that your own desires have not mastered you.
The biggest battle you face is in your mind, and that’s why the enemy attacks you there the most. If he can control your thoughts, he can control your life. By changing the way you think, God is able to change who you are. It’s only for the better.
Prayer: Pray for God to help you transform into who He created you to be in Christ.
