Names of God for the Worship LeaderSample
El Shaddai
The God Almighty or God all-sufficient.
We serve a God who is enough. We can rest in God's promise to multiply our seed and that is all we need. In Genesis 17 we see God promise to multiply Abram's seed if Abram will live in covenant with God.
He changes Abram's name to Abraham, and then God promises to make him the father of many nations.
We see something similar later in Genesis in chapter 35 verse 11, where God changes Jacob's name to Israel and promises that Jacob will be fruitful and multiply. In these verses we see God call himself El Shaddai. Many translations today say "I am God Almighty."
When we make a commitment to walk with Christ, he changes our name and we can call him El Shaddai. This walk with Christ may get tough sometimes, but we can always rely on an Almighty God who is all sufficient. Everything we need, we can find it in Him.
Thank you, God, for being a God who will multiply our seed and provide all that we need!
Remind the congregations you serve that because God is Almighty, He will give us all we need.
